David Vonderhaar, game design director for the Call of Duty series, has announced his departure from Activision and Treyarch following 18+ years. He thanked all colleagues at Treyarch for their commitment to excellence and the Call of Duty community for their passion and enthusiasm. Vonderhaar started out as an online manager for Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. He worked on the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War, and has already worked on the Black Ops series as a design director. He also worked on Call of Duty: Warzone. According to Vonderhaar, he remains in the gaming industry and is working on a project that he cannot say anything regarding yet. But he called his new appointment “a rare and unique opportunity” and said he was delighted with the new prospects.
