Day of traveling surgeries in Fram reduces waiting list and advances patient care

Asunción, IP Agency.- A successful day of itinerant surgeries was carried out at the Fram District Hospital of the VII Health Region, Itapúa, aimed at reducing the surgical waiting list and advancing care for scheduled patients.

On this occasion, 8 interventions were performed, including highly complex procedures: 2 prostate surgeries, 3 hernia repairs, 3 lithiasis procedures.

This strategy is part of the actions of the Government of Paraguay to streamline public health services and guarantee timely access to necessary surgical interventions.

Since the first days of October 2023, a traveling surgical team from the department of Itapúa manages and executes surgical interventions in the five District Hospitals in the region, located in Coronel Bogado, Fram, Tomás Romero Pereira, Natalio, San Pedro del Paraná and the Carmen del Paraná Health Center.

The joint work of the professionals who make up the surgical team allowed all the interventions to be successful and, currently, the patients are in the process of recovery.

The surgeries are carried out by a traveling surgical team that began this service a year ago, benefiting more than 900 patients.
