2023-08-04 20:43:31

Three people died following torrential rains in Slovenia, as landslides cut off roads leading to villages and disrupted movement in the north-east and center of the country.

“Three people have died in the last 24 hours in weather-related accidents,” police spokeswoman Maja Adlicic told AFP.

She indicated that the bodies of two foreign tourists were found in the Jbeila area affected by the storm, in addition to the body of a woman in a flooded area.

Local authorities have issued a red alert, which is considered a high alert, due to the start of heavy rain from Thursday to Friday night.

“The situation is serious,” the country’s defense minister, Marjan Sarik, told the media.
