At least 6 people died and several others were injured by tornadoes that formed in Tennessee on Saturday.
Three people died in Madison, a city in the suburbs of Nashville, while three others were found dead in Clarksville, further north, near the border with Kentucky, reports CNN.
Authorities also confirmed that at least three people were injured near the city of Dresden while 23 people required treatment at a Montgomery County hospital.
Local government reports that winds caused “significant damage” Saturday as authorities launched a “search and rescue” operation northeast of Nashville.
Extreme weather conditions hit more than 1,900 kilometers of the US east coast on December 9.
The US National Weather Service has confirmed that two “large and dangerous” tornadoes have been recorded in Tennessee.
