New global financial pact: a summit to combine development and climate

Bringing together around fifty heads of state, more than 300 spokespersons from international financial institutions, but also representatives of the private sector and civil society, the summit for a New Global Financial Pact, which opens its doors in Paris on Thursday June 22, has set itself the task of bringing together several agendas: climate, development, debt. The main objective is to establish a roadmap to help the countries of the South to face these contemporary challenges to which they are particularly exposed.

Thus, and in accordance with Emmanuel Macron’s announcements, this meeting tends to demonstrate that the rich countries do not abandon the most vulnerable countries. Whereas in recent years, development aid has often suffered from unhonored commitments.
