Declared dead by mistake on the RFI website, the former Senegalese president, Abdoulaye Wade, reassures that he is in great shape.
“After the announcement of my death on the RFI website following a computer error, I want to reassure that I am in good shape”, reacted Wade on his facebook page.
He adds: “It is not given to everyone to be able to read his obituary during his lifetime”, before recalling to what “it is important to verify your sources before sharing information”.
The web was shaken this morning by the announcements by Rfi of the death of former Senegalese presidents Abdou Diouf, Abdoulaye Wade and that of the former president of the Republic of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. The management of Radio France international quickly released a press release to apologize, indicating that this is a “major bug”.
“A technical problem has resulted in the publication of numerous obituaries on the site. We are mobilized to rectify this major bug and we apologize to those concerned as well as to you who follow us and trust us, ”said Rfi in a tweet.
