New Delhi — Police on Tuesday arrested two additional suspects in connection with the Turkman gate stone-pelting incident, authorities confirmed. The new arrests raise the number of people detained in the case to 20.
The suspects have been identified as Muhammad Imran and Adnan.
The arrests followed clashes when authorities moved to demolish illegal encroachments near the Faiz‑e‑Ilahi Mosque. A JCB arrived at the site, and about 25–30 individuals reportedly pelted police and Municipal Corporation of Delhi officers.
Earlier, the matter was before the Tis Hazari Court, which kept five bail pleas in the stone-pelting case pending. A decision on those pleas was expected later on wednesday.
Judicial Magistrate First Class Saisha Chadda reserved bail orders for Adnan, Kaif, Kasif, Arib and Sameer.
