Favorable period

Especially since, according to the health authorities, the current period is favorable to a rapid expansion of dengue fever. Indeed, summer is the period of cyclones in Guadeloupe, but also of festivals which encourage the influx and gathering of many people, among whom there are surely carriers of the virus responsible for dengue fever.

Very common in hot countries, dengue fever is a disease transmitted by mosquitoes. It is characterized by a high fever often accompanied by headaches, joint pains and a rash, among others.

Its severe forms are rare, but can be fatal. As a preventive measure, the health authorities recommend that Guadeloupeans empty all containers containing water to avoid the reproduction of mosquitoes.
