A third part of Dune might see the light of day, director Denis Villeneuve told the magazine Empire.

The first part – which was a resounding success when it was released in 2021 – and the second, Dune : Part Two, whose release, initially scheduled for the fall, has been postponed to the spring, are the film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Frank Herbert.
But the story of this universe does not stop there: several other volumes have followed, starting with Dune’s Messiah. If this third part sees the light of day, it will be the last, said Denis Villeneuve to Empire.
“Then the books become more… esoteric,” he explains.
