Deprivation of Powers in the Russian State Duma: A Sobering Wave of Consequences for Truant Deputies

The State Duma of the Russian Federation will continue to deprive deputies of their powers for absenteeism. The deprivation of the mandate of deputies Vasily Vlasov (LDPR) and Vadim Belousov (A Just Russia – For Truth) on November 1 should “sober up” all truants. This was stated by sources at Okhotny Ryad.

“In the State Duma of the 8th convocation, deputies will continue to be deprived of their powers for absenteeism,” writes Vedomosti, citing a source. The newspaper was emphasized that the series of dismissals will continue until the deputies respond to the new signal.

Volodin asked earlier from subscribers of their telegram channel regarding the correctness of the fact that a deputy is deprived of his mandate for missing plenary sessions. Previously, deputies noted that Belousov and Vlasov do not perform duties in the workplace. Volodin repeatedly warned that for such cases there are special laws. However, this rule was applied for the first time since 2016.
