Devastating Potential Closure of Innovia Films Factory: Fight Against Job Losses and Unjustified Company Decision

2023-09-23 11:40:19

At a works council on Friday, management announced that the factory might close next year, explains ACV union secretary Johan Quintelier.

“This factory is profitable and stable. We do not understand why the company is giving up now,” laments the union. “If the factory closes, 124 people will lose their jobs. Only a handful of people from the sales department will be able to stay.”

Innovia Films manufactures plastic films for the food and tobacco industries. It belongs to the Canadian-American company CCL Industries. In addition to the Belgian branch, the group has factories in the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland.
