DGCDI: Agents demand more than 10 months of salary arrears and legal benefits

Goma, February 27, 2024 – The inter-union of the General Directorate of Industrial Development Corridors (DGCDI), a technical service of the Ministry of Industry of the DRC, announces a strike movement to demand their arrears of wages and legal benefits due to staff.

In a correspondence addressed to the Director General of this institution on February 23, 2024, DGCDI agents specify that the general strike will begin on March 4, 2024.

The inter-union is demanding 8 months of salary arrears from July 2023 to February 2024, bonuses, end-of-year packages and 2023 school fees for staff recruited in 2023.

Also, she claims 9 months of salary arrears from July 2022 and from July 2023 to February 2024; bonus 2022 and 2023; end-of-year packages 2022 and 2023 and tuition fees 2022 and 2023 for agents recruited in 2022.

That’s not all, the DGCDI inter-union is also demanding 10 months of salary arrears July 2022; from June 2023 to February 2024, bonus 2022 and 2023, end-of-year packages 2022 and 2023, and tuition fees 2022 and 2023.

According to the spirit of the document consulted by Dépêche.cd, the inter-union says it remains open to all negotiations that the Director of the DGCDI might open, throughout the duration of the notice period.
