Oscar-winning American actress Diane Keaton, who delighted audiences with memorable roles and unmatched humor for more than 50 years, has died at the age of 79.
Throughout his career, Keaton gave life to dozens of characters in film, television and theater.
She rose to fame in the early 1970s for her performance in the “Godfather” trilogy as the second wife of Michael Corleone, one of the few female characters in history.
Subsequently, he acted in numerous films directed by Woody Allen; among them Annie Hall (released in Spanish under the title “Two Strange Lovers”), for which she received the Oscar for Best Actress in 1978.
Her character in this was written specifically for her and Keaton described it as a “gentle version” of herself in her book Then Again.
She was nominated three other times for the Oscar: in 1981 for Redsin 1996 for “The blood that unites us” and in 2003 by “Someone has to give in.”
Keaton also shined in comedic roles in films such as “Father of the Bride” and “The Family Jewel,” and was a voice actress for the 2016 Pixar film “Finding Dory.”
On television, Keaton played Amelia Earhart, a real-life American aviator who disappeared in 1937 while trying to fly around the world, in the series Amelia Earhart: The Final Flightamong many other papers.
Throughout her life, she was also recognized as a fashion and style icon. With her hats and men’s clothing, she proposed a different image of a Hollywood star.
His latest book, Fashion First (published in 2024) traces her relationship with clothing throughout her life, from the outfits she made by hand as a child to the stunning looks with whom he walked the red carpets of Hollywood.
In addition to acting, Keaton directed films such as “Unsung Heroes” and “Don’t Leave Us Hanging.”

Keaton died on Saturday in California, a family spokesperson told the magazine. People.
In tribute to her, her “Dirvorce Club” co-star Bette Midler wrote on Instagram: “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has passed away. I can’t express how unbearably sad this makes me feel.”
“She was hilarious, totally original and completely without malice or the competitiveness one would expect from such a star. What you saw was what she was.”
Actor Ben Stiller wrote for his part in X: “Diane Keaton. One of the best film actresses of all time. An icon of style, humor and comedy. Brilliant. What a great person.”
Diane Keaton never married and had two adopted sons: Dexter and Duke.
In her 2011 autobiography, Keaton wrote: “I tested my happiness index and this is the result. I feel completely satisfied when my loved ones are happy about something small, big, insignificant, whatever.”
“I just don’t think anyone can have the same wonderful, intense, passionate feelings that I have for my family.”
