Dies Janse makes his debut for Ajax in a league match against Heerenveen

Janse’s development has been stormy since his arrival at Ajax in 2020. Last season, the former defender of Kloetinge made his breakthrough at Jong Ajax. In preparation for the new season, Janse was given the chance by Ajax’s new coach Farioli to prove himself and impressed the Italian. It earned the young Zeeuw his unofficial debut in the practice match against PEC Zwolle and a place in the selection that went to training camp in Wageningen.

He did not make an official debut yet. In the first leg against Vojvodina in the preliminary rounds of the Europa League, Janse was in the selection, but he remained on the bench for the entire match. For the return leg and for the match last Thursday in Athens against Panathinaikos, Janse was not in the match selection. For the first league match against Heerenveen, Farioli chose to rest several basic players in view of the return leg against Panathinaikos. Jorrel Hato is one of them, Janse is his replacement.
