The general director of the Dundo Regional Museum, Ilunga André, was arrested this Wednesday, 26, in Lunda Norte, for allegedly being linked to the disappearance of the piece “Mwana Pwo”, one of the most valuable pieces in the collection of that scientific and cultural institution.
As advances the ANDthe director remains detained in the cells of the Municipal Criminal Investigation Service of Chitato and has not yet been heard by the Public Prosecutor at the SIC, the body that initiated the search and seizure operation of the accused.
“My client has not yet been heard by the Honorable Magistrate of the Public Ministry with the SIC. Therefore, the application of the heavy criminal coercion measure is out of the question. For the time being, we cannot make any further statements,” he said, speaking to the AND, Ilunga André’s defense attorney.
Wilson Mucapola also advanced that for the time being “the expert work has been carried out by the Criminal Investigation Service so that the truth of the facts of the accusations once morest the general director of the Dundo Regional Museum can be ascertained”.
