Nina had been checking off the Antwerp Worlds since May 2019, when she knew that the Metropolis was going to organize them.

Unfortunately nothing went as planned for the Trudonnaire. In April, a shoulder injury deprived her of the European Championships.

Nina then worked hard to be ready for her worlds at home. But his body decided otherwise. She dislocated her shoulder once more at the beginning of September, putting an end to her Antwerp dream.

An Antwerp dream that turned into a nightmare for the girls. After Nina, it’s Lisa Vaelen (who won bronze on vault at the Euro) who had to withdraw due to mononucleosis. Maelysse Brassartweakened by a sprained ankle, had to lead the very young Belgian team which failed to qualify for Paris…

It is officially these disappointing results which precipitated the dismissal of the French duo, as confirmed on Tuesday, Ruben Neyenshead of high-level sport at Gymfed: ” During the evaluation of the last World Championships, it appeared that the mutual trust between Gymfed and the coaches was not there.

If it was already established that Marjorie Heuls et Yves Kieffer would not extend their collaboration with Gymfed beyond the Paris Olympics, the timing is surprising. Messing up everything at 9 months from the gameswhile three gymnasts can still hope to get their ticket to Paris, it is surprising.
