In this ranking unveiled on Monday, Royal Air Maroc rose to second place among the best airlines in Africa, succeeding Ethiopian Airlines and ahead of major players such as South African Airways, Kenya Airways and Air Mauritius. In addition, the Moroccan company distinguished itself with a progression of 13 places in the general ranking of the Skytrax World Airlines Awards, moving up to 53ᵉ place. Air Algérie, meanwhile, is absent from the Top 100.
This ranking was unveiled when RAM has just announced the launch of a new international campaign. Called “Morocco Smiles to You”, it intends to promote Moroccan destinations in its main markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and America. In the words of its CEO, Hamid Addou, this campaign aims to “display the face of a smiling people, rich in its ancestral values: openness, hospitality, generosity, tolerance…”.
Initially rolled out in France, the campaign is now expanding to 16 other countries, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Germany, Turkey, Tunisia, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Canada and the United States.
