NASA’s Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope captured a time-lapse video of the invisible light that permeates our universe.

The telescope was able to detect a 14-year cosmic light show in just six minutes.

Using gamma radiation technology, the telescope allowed scientists to observe energy sources such as supernova remnants, pulsars, and bright galaxies.

A recently compiled timeline of Fermi data provides a fascinating glimpse into the cosmic light show hidden from our human eyes.

According to (Interesting Engineering), the telescope shared a video of gamma rays on the occasion of the completion of 14 years from the start of the mission. The video captures images of our galaxy and distant celestial bodies, but it is also interspersed with some activity originating from the Sun.

The mission is now managed by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, with SLAC continuing to correlate data from the telescope.
