In all four corners of the country, toboggan runs are being improvised this Saturday. Like in Écaussinnes, in Hainaut, where an association organized a day of skiing. With 20 cm of powder and a sloping meadow, it doesn’t take much to slide happily through the countryside and discover simple pleasures.
An ideal track, despite a few bumps due to moles. “I walk here almost every day. In summer, it’s the cows, and in winter, it’s the parents and children who go sliding“, enthuses a mother who came for the occasion.

And with this snow, it’s not just the children who benefit, but the parents too. The track attracts families, for a local outing, without having to cross the country, to the Fagnes. “We’ve been to the Fagnes once, but hey, when you see how long it takes to get there and then park. Here, we are 5 minutes from the house“, explains a parent.
For the safety of those present on site, bales of straw are placed. And 2 rescuers watch over day-old sliders. “We also took out insurance to ensure that everything happens in the best conditions. (…)”, specifies Sébastien Descamps, head of the Synergie association.
A conviviality that is found at the edge of the slope, with music, chocolate and mulled wine. Little joys for a few more hours, but above all, memories forever.
