The episode took place this week during a diversity awareness campaign carried out at Atlas College in Genk, Flanders. As part of this campaign LGBTQIA+ “Also Genks Well Anders” (OGWA), supported by the city, a stand had been deployed in the school’s playground.
A group of students gradually gathered around the table and started spitting and throwing objects at the rainbow symbols. Several dozen students finally gathered around the position of the two employees of the city and the volunteer of the rainbow association, some shouting Allah Akbar. It finally took the intervention of some teachers and the end of recess for things to calm down and for the students to return to class.
