Do chicken bouillon cubes cause cancer? The Saudi Food and Drug Authority answers

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)–Chicken bouillon cubes are a must-have ingredient for many meals.

Sometimes, rumors circulate regarding this ingredient, such as being carcinogenic.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority recently responded to this rumor with a tweet on its official Twitter account.

The tweet indicated that the main component of chicken stock cubes is sodium glutamate salt, which is considered a food additive allowed according to Saudi technical regulations.

Scientific evidence has not proven the relationship of chicken broth cubes to cancer. However, it is recommended to reduce its use as it contains high amounts of salt.
