A dog is said to have fatally injured a cat in Söhlde (Hildesheim district). According to the police, the owner of the dog is known and is being investigated for violating the Animal Welfare Act. There was initially no further information.
The police statement went on to say that the dog owner had been threatened by telephone by a previously unknown caller. Criminal proceedings will be initiated against the caller for threats.
