“I like it when people ask, ‘How did it last so long?'” says Parton. “I always say, ‘Keep moving’. We don’t sit on top of each other all the time. He’s not in the music business, so we have different interests – but also a few things we prefer to do together. We were just made for each other .”
Humor is also an important element of a good marriage, says the singer. “We both have a quirky sense of humor. I think that’s one of the best things regarding being married. Even if there’s a problem and you’ve said something that you can’t take back, a sense of humor can help out somehow.”
