His reporting has extensively covered major global conflicts and the African events of the last twenty years, including the Arab Spring. Having been held captive by Al-Qaeda in Syria and Gaddafi militants in Libya, Quirico brings a unique and firsthand perspective to his work.A recipient of prestigious accolades such as the Cutuli and Premiolino journalistic prizes, the Indro Montanelli Prize, the Tiziano Terzani Prize, and the Brancati prize, Quirico also received the International Flaiano Award for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism in 2024.In Dolomindcontri, he will present his latest literary work, “The Four Jihad: The Clash Between Islam and the West from Napoleon to Hamas” (Rizzoli). Concluding the 39th edition of Dolomindcontri Summer 2025 on Saturday, August 30th, will be the acclaimed author Carlo Lucarelli.
