Dominican Aviation announces re-evaluation of Venezuelan airline operations

Starting Monday, May 27, passenger and cargo air operations, as well as regular and non-scheduled flights, involving Venezuelan airlines in the Dominican Republic.

This was announced by the Aviation Board of the aforementioned country, which, through a statement, indicated that the work of Venezuelan airlines in its territory will be re-evaluated.

The issue has been the cause of doubts and responses are still awaited, especially in the case of travelers with tickets to the Caribbean island.

Journalist Ginette González indicated on her social networks that The operation of the Venezuelan airline Laser Airlines and its connecting flights in La Romana would be assuredas it is generated through the sister company Red Air Dominicana.

The Dominican Republic is listed as one of the main direct and connecting destinations with Venezuela, where Air traffic increased dramatically last year.

The most recent Passenger Traffic Report for Latin America and the Caribbean reflected that there was an increase in the volume of international flights in the country in 2023. It is estimated that Growth was 51% compared to 2022according to Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association.

This increase made Venezuela the country in the region with the most notable growth during the past year. Regarding domestic passenger air traffic, the increase was 26% to place it among the top five nations in the region.
