On Saturday, Dominik Paris achieved a celebrated home victory over the full distance from Val Gardena in spectacular style. The 34-year-old local hero drove to his 22nd victory in the World Cup, his first on the Saslong. At the finish in Wolkenstein, Paris was 0.44 seconds ahead of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (Norway), third place went to Bryce Bennett (USA/+0.60), who won the first downhill run on a shortened route on Thursday.
