Des Moines/Washington – Former US President Donald Trump has won the first primary election for the Republican presidential nomination. Trump received 51 percent of the vote at the Republican party meetings in the US state of Iowa, US media reported following nine tenths of all votes were counted. The race for second place was won by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He received 21.3 percent, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley 19.1 percent.
