2023-06-04 07:07:23

The people of Mons did not wait for this Sunday to celebrate, but the day is the high point of the Doudou or the traditional “Ducasse de la Trinité” which brings together tens of thousands of people each year. Mass, procession of Saint-Georges, placement of the reliquary of Saint Waudru on the Car d’Or, procession and ascent of the Car d’Or on the Rampe Saint-Waudru at noon, fight called “Lumeçon” half an hour later on the main square… The Doudou is a popular and lively melody written on music paper.

Some 250,000 people have attended the Ducasse de Mons festivities since May 31, according to the spokesperson for the mayor of Mons, Shahiness Benabdelouahed. A “record” especially in terms of security and events.
