Saturday December 9, 2023 around 11 p.m., a dramatic accident occurred at the intersection of rue du Longwez and rue du Rabot in Mornimont. A 61-year-old driver living in Fosses-la-Ville escaped a police check organized in rue du Rabot. In a Peugeot van, the driver fled at high speed with the police in his wake. The fugitive then hit the safety rails and was ejected.
Firefighters from the Val de Sambre area went to the scene with an ambulance and a marking vehicle. Unfortunately, they were only able to note the death of the driver.
