From the National Commission for Electoral Guaranteesthe interior minister, Daniel Palaces, confirmed that the Government modified Decree 840 that establishes the ‘Dry Law’ for the presidential elections this Sunday.

Palacios confirmed that the changes were made due to requests from the Asobares guildso as not to affect the economic reactivation in the country, so The measure will start on Saturday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m.until the Monday, May 30, 12:00 p.m.

“It is very informative to mention that we have modified the dry law decree, this as a result of multiple requests for economic reactivation, the Government has adopted this measure and will change the schedules”, confirmed the minister.

regarding the elections, the minister confirmed that 99% of the electoral material is already in the polling stations. Likewise, of the 12 thousand polling stations that they have, they are going to move 5 polling stations as a result of the winter emergencybut no polling station has been moved due to public order in the country.

“We reiterate the commitment of the National government to guarantee safety, with more than 300 thousand men of the Public Force, for presidential elections throughout the national territory. The elections continue, they are not postponed, they are not suspended and we call for disinformation and false and misleading news, if not that we access the official information in the authorized portals”, expressed the Ministry of the Interior.
