His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Announced that the authority set a record in the number of distribution stations 11 kb volts that it launched during the first half of the year 2025 compared to the same period of the year 2024. This achievement underscores Dubai’s commitment to infrastructure growth.
His Excellency Al -Tayer Pointed out that the authority launched 924 voltage distribution stations 11 km in various parts of the Emirate of Dubai during the first six months of 2025. This represents a significant increase compared to the 558 11 km voltage distribution stations launched during the first half of last year.
Work at these stations and the associated tasks included a total of 654,456.30 working hours. All work was completed according to the highest quality and efficiency standards, with all precautionary procedures strictly followed.
His Excellency Al -Tayer Affirmed the commitment of the authority to enhance the readiness of the strong infrastructure in Dubai. This is to keep pace with the unprecedented urban,population and economic prosperity in the emirate,and to meet the increasing demand for electricity.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer Added: “Given that investing in infrastructure is the main driver of the economy and complete development, we are committed to strengthening the pioneering model that the authority established in building an advanced and integrated infrastructure.”
He continued, “this contributes to achieving the Dubai Economic Agency D33 and Dubai Urban Plan 2040. Thanks to the directives of good leadership, and the innovation, sustainability, the latest technologies, research, and proper scientific planning, the quality and competitiveness of our infrastructure became one of the best in the world.”
The authority topped the first places in the world in 12 indicators of the main performance in its fields of work. This includes a reduction in average outage duration to just 1 minute and 38 seconds annually, compared to an average of 15 minutes in the European Union.
In turn, Eng.Rashid bin Humaidan,CEO of the President of the Energy Distribution Sector at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,Said: “The total number of distribution stations with average voltage is 33 km in service 62 stations,while the number of medium -voltage distribution stations (11 km and 6.6 kg) reaches 64,084 stations.”
