Dubai: Dubai Airport’s comprehensive screening system to detect fake travel documents is gaining attention.

The Document Verification Center is functioning under the leadership of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs. The center is located in Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport.

The center has 62 officers with expertise in detecting violations like black money and forgery. State-of-the-art three-dimensional technologies are used here to detect fake documents. Last year, the center found 1,327 fake documents, including identity cards, passports and visas.

All counters at Passport Control at Dubai Airport are equipped with machines to check suspicious passports.

Such passports are first sent to the police station and then referred to the prosecution for further action. Then send it to the center for detailed inspection.
