Dubai, October 12 / WAM / The sixth Dubai Police Chess Championship for People of Determination, organized by the People of Determination Empowerment Council and the Positive Spirit Initiative in Dubai Police, attracted 100 players, both male and female, who competed in the tournament during the activities of the International Expo for People of Determination, which was held over the course of 3 days. Fatima Buhajir, general coordinator of the Positive Spirit Initiative, and a member of the People of Determination Empowerment Council, said that the tournament aims to open the door for people of determination from various disability groups to participate in a mental game that develops the mind and strategic thinking, and highlights their abilities in this aspect.
She added that organizing the tournament at the International Expo for People of Determination enhanced the momentum of community participation and competitiveness.
The first three winners received championship cups, while the winners of the community participations during the exhibition received medals and prizes.
