Dubai: Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued an order banning single-use plastic bags in Dubai from January 1, 2024. Meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, cereals, bread, garbage bags and products intended for export or re-export. Rolls of thin bags used for packing have also been exempted from the ban.
The order aims to encourage Dubai residents to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly behavior to protect the environment.
