Budapest – Swede Armand Duplantis continued his winning streak in the pole vault at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The 23-year-old Olympic champion and world record holder successfully defended his previous year’s title with 6.10 m, breaking the bar three times at the world record height of 6.23 m. The decathlon winner was Pierce Lepage with 8,909 points, Damian Warner (8,804) ensured a double victory for Canada. The French world record holder Kevin Mayer had given up.
