During the implementation of the “Rail Baltica” project, the electricity transmission lines of “Litgrid” will be reconstructed | Business

Reconstruction and overhaul works of electricity transmission lines managed by “Litgrid” will be carried out in the sections of the Kaunas-Ramygala rail road of the “Rail Baltica” railway line Schweizaria-Žeimia and Žeimia-Šėta.

“We are successfully contributing to the implementation of the Rail Baltica project at LTG Infra by reconstructing the electricity transmission lines that will be crossed by the new electrified track of the European standard. After the signing of tripartite service contracts for the connection of electrical equipment between Litgrid, LTG Infra and the contractor selected through public procurement, the existing reinforced concrete supports will be replaced with metal anchor supports, and an underground 110 kV cable will be laid during the construction of the new railway bridge over the Neris in the Jonava district. – says Rokas Masiulis, head of Litgrid.

“Currently, 29.2 km of Rail Baltica sections in Jonava district. active high-speed railway bed and construction works are being carried out. This year, it is planned to sign two more contracts for railway construction works on the 36 km Kaunas–Sveicarija and Šėta–Ramygala sections. When expanding the scope of work, it is planned to reconstruct the Litgrid lines crossing Rail Baltica – the 330 kV overhead line Kruonis HAE-Kaunas and the 110 kV overhead line Biruliškės-Kaišiadorys”, says Vytis Žalimas, head of LTG Infra.

This year, “Litgrid” signed three tripartite service contracts for connecting electric devices to the transmission network. Two contracts were signed with “LTG Infra” and UAB “Fegda”: regarding the replacement of supports of the 330 kV overhead line Lietuvos elektrinė-Jonava and the 110 kV line Kaunas-Jonava II, and regarding the replacement of supports of Jonava-Panevėžys and Jonava-Dargužiai. The third contract was signed with “LTG Infra” and the Lithuanian branch of the Italian company “Rizzani de Eccher” regarding the replacement of part of the 110 kV electricity transmission overhead line Kaunas-Jonava I into a cable line.

The value of all contracts is 5.8 million. EUR without VAT. The works are scheduled to be completed in 2024-2025.
