Dutch police arrest two brothers at the Belgian border suspected of preparing a terrorist act

An investigation had been opened into the brothers following the transmission this week to the public prosecutor’s office of information from the Dutch secret service (AIVD) regarding them, said the prosecution in a press release.

“During the arrest and search of the suspects’ homes, no weapon or explosive was found,” added the prosecution, which did not give information on the nature of the act prepared by brothers.

“The investigation is now focusing on what the suspects had in mind,” said a spokesman for the prosecution, quoted by Dutch public television NOS.

The prosecution does not expect any further arrests as part of this investigation, NOS said.
