The Department of Health Education, in cooperation with the Preventive Medicine Department of the Qatif Health Network, organized an awareness and awareness campaign for the early detection of hepatitis C virus, through a “check and rest assured” campaign in commercial markets.
This campaign aims to raise awareness and educate citizens regarding the importance of early detection of the hepatitis C virus, and to provide the necessary advice to prevent this dangerous disease that can lead to serious health complications.
A specialized medical team from the Qatif Health Network participated in the campaign, and conducted free check-ups for citizens wishing to detect hepatitis C virus, and educational brochures were distributed containing useful information regarding the prevention of this disease.
The importance of early detection
The Qatif Health Network administration emphasized the importance of this awareness campaign aimed at sensitizing citizens to the importance of early detection of the hepatitis C virus, and providing the necessary medical advice and guidance to prevent this dangerous disease.
On the other hand, Qatif Central Hospital called on citizens to undergo hepatitis C virus tests, as part of the “Check-Rest assured” initiative.
This comes with the aim of enhancing awareness and early detection of the epidemic, and in implementation of the World Hepatitis Day, which the Kingdom celebrates.
The initiative includes taking blood samples from beneficiaries aged 35 years and over, and transferring infected cases to specialized departments to start the treatment program.
