“Earthquakes strike near Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka, Russia – Latest updates and news”

Over the past day, 15 earthquakes were recorded in the area of ​​the Shiveluch volcano in the east of Kamchatka, with a maximum magnitude of 4.2. This follows from the data on site Kamchatka Branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It follows from the data that all tremors were recorded at a distance of 80 to 90 km from the village of Ust-Kamchatsk (population – 3.3 thousand people). The active volcano Shiveluch is located 87 km from the village.

The message regarding the last push appeared at 16:41 local time (7:41 Moscow time). The source lay at a depth of 3.9 km.

In the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, RIA Novosti reports, it is not known regarding the victims of the earthquakes.
