ED Raid at CPM Leader AC Moiteen’s House: Investigation into Karuvannur Cooperative Bank Case

Thrissur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the house of CPM leader and former minister A.C. Moiteen has passed 15 hours. The raid started at seven in the morning and continued late into the night. ED officials from Kochi are inspecting the house in Vadakanchery Thekumkara. It is reported that 12 officials are conducting the inspection. The investigation is in the case related to Karuvannur Cooperative Bank.

ED arrived in the morning when AC Moiteen was regarding to attend the CPM district committee meeting. ED is investigating the case related to Karuvannur Cooperative Bank. It is reported that the inspection at the former minister’s house is a part of it. It was alleged that some of Moithin’s relatives were connected with the Karuvannur Co-operative Bank fraud.

Earlier, Ramakrishnan, the father of the first accused TR Sunilkumar, who is in jail, had demanded an inquiry into the role of former CPM area secretary and former district secretariat member CK Chandran and AC Moiteen MLA in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank fraud. Sunil Kumar, a member of a traditional CPM family, was the Karuvannur bank secretary.
