The defense of the standard-bearer of the Democratic Unitary Platform, Edmundo González Urrutia, delivered this Wednesday, September 4, to the Public Ministry (MP) a document to respect “the presumption of innocence” and the “procedural guarantees” that “were not present” in the three summons that the institution issued as part of an investigation against the opponent.

In a statement to the media, his defense attorney, José Vicente Haro, said that “the objective was met,” since the idea was to “obtain an effective acknowledgment of receipt” and “formally” establish before the Prosecutor’s Office “the reasons” why González Urrutia “did not appear” at the three summonses, after which a court issued an arrest warrant.
