Edtstadler defends plan to ban citations from criminal files: freedom of the press “not absolute” – domestic

Vienna – Constitutional Minister Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) is once once more fueling the discussion regarding a ban on media quoting from procedural files. Back in April of this year, she wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that the ban should apply before public hearings in criminal proceedings, citing the model in force in Germany. Now she addressed critics once more in a tweet.
