Egypt issues commemorative silver coins in denominations of 20 and 50 pounds

Egypt – The Egyptian Council of Ministers approved a license for the Minister of Finance to issue uncirculated commemorative silver coins in denominations of 50 and 20 pounds, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the first national currency in circulation.

It was also approved that the Public Treasury and Mint Department would mint circulated coins of one and a half pound denominations, in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt to approve the issuance of these coins.

The Egyptian Council of Ministers also approved a draft decision of the President of the Republic regarding Egypt’s accession to membership in the African Trade Insurance and Investment Development Agency (ATIDI).

Joining the agency enhances African trade opportunities, by providing flexible solutions to mitigate political and commercial risks at the regional level, by reducing the transaction costs of investors, lenders, exporters and importers, as well as the cost of credit and insurance, as the African agency contributes to providing the financial resources necessary to increase trade, investments and activities. Other productivity, supporting and stimulating the implementation of investment projects in various African countries through a partnership system with the private sector, as well as facilitating the development of trade, investments and other productive activities in African countries.
