He continued: “The Israeli government is responsible for not reaching a truce agreement and is seeking to impose a new reality on the ground to cover up its internal crisis.”

US President Joe Biden intends this week to present a final proposal to the US National Security Council to free the hostages and cease fire in the Gaza Strip.

Biden will meet with his national security team Monday morning to outline a strategy for the final push to seal the deal, with Vice President Kamala Harris joining Biden during the meeting, a source familiar with the matter said.

The Hebrew media reported that the Israeli cabinet voted in favor of keeping the Israeli army in the Philadelphi corridor by a majority of 8 votes and one opposing vote.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that “the October 7 disaster happened because the Philadelphi corridor was not in Israel’s hands. It was through this corridor that a huge amount of weapons used by armed organizations in Gaza were transferred,” he said.

Netanyahu added that “this reality will not return again, and that Israel is determined this time to maintain its control over these borders.”
