Egypt’s Engineering Exports Hit Record High in 2025, Fueled by Broad-based Growth
Cairo – Egypt’s engineering export sector has sustained a record-breaking run in 2025, reaching $5.93 billion through the first 11 months of the year, the highest total ever recorded for the category.
Industry data show exports climbing 13.9% year on year from $5.20 billion in the January-November period of 2024, underscoring resilience and a widening footprint in global markets despite global headwinds.
November alone highlighted the momentum, with engineering shipments up 35.4% year on year to $621.3 million, compared with $458.5 million in November 2024,the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EEC) reported.
The council credited the sustained rise to uninterrupted monthly growth across 11 consecutive months, a testament to its export-expansion strategy, targeted market plans, and promotional campaigns conducted in collaboration with government agencies.
EEC Chairperson Sherif El-Sayad highlighted robust gains across key product categories.Machinery and equipment rose 25%, electrical and electronic goods gained 24%, automotive components rose 22%, transport equipment advanced 13%, and home appliances increased 12%.
El-sayad emphasized that the growth reflects a diversified and increasingly competitive Egyptian engineering base. He noted that attracting additional investment remains essential, as investment inflows directly influence export performance.
The official also pointed to stronger performance across multiple international markets, including Europe, Arab nations, Asia, Africa, and the United States, indicating a successful diversification of export destinations and an expanding global footprint for Egyptian engineering products.
The EEC chairperson reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting exporting firms by opening new markets and deepening penetration in existing ones, aligning with the government’s broader push to boost exports and strengthen the engineering sector’s contribution to economic growth.
