Egypt’s Land Reclamation Efforts Exceed 750 Billion Pounds: A Comprehensive Look at Agricultural Development Projects in Sinai

The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Al-Sayyed Al-Qaseer, said that the total costs spent on developing Sinai exceeded regarding 750 billion pounds, and many projects are still to be completed.

Al-Qusayr added, during an interview with the journalist Ahmed Musa, on the “On My Responsibility” program on Sada Al-Balad TV, that these projects are related to the treatment of agricultural wastewater in Bahr Al-Baqar and Al-Mahsama, and the reclamation and cultivation of 450,000 acres, and land reclamation, costing billions of pounds.

The Minister of Agriculture added that Egypt is one of the few countries in the world that reclaim lands, while the countries of the world suffer from the loss of millions of hectares annually due to land desertification and climate changes.

Al-Qusayr pointed out that Egypt is one of the great countries in the efficient use of natural resources, especially water, and agricultural productivity, in addition to road, electricity, education, social protection and health projects.
