In the followingmath of Eid Al Adah, three teams of two agents from the Brussels Cleanliness Agency (ABP) surveyed the territory of the Brussels region to find the carcasses of animals that would have been abandoned in the wild.

Eid celebration: wholesalers and butchers turn to England, “it’s killing the sector”

Result of this first day: a dozen garbage bags found with the remains of sheep. The teams are concentrating on certain areas where these carcasses have historically been left, such as the end of the chaussée de Vilvorde or rue Colonel Bourg. To sum up, the agency concentrates its strengths on the main exit routes of the Brussels region where there are areas that look like wasteland.

The ABP expects to find the same amount of bags in the coming days. According to the ABP, the practice of home slaughter (prohibited in the Brussels region) is less and less frequent. The teams from the Bruxelles Propreté agency will tour the streets of the capital region until Saturday.
