Jeddah: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has made elaborate arrangements for the short Eid Namaz in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry informed that more than 20 thousand mosques and Eidgahs in the country are ready for Eid Namaz. Due to heavy traffic, Eid prayers will be held in more than 500 mosques in addition to the Haram in Makkah.
According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, 20,714 mosques and Eid gahs have been set up for Eid prayers in various provinces. Necessary maintenance and cleaning works have already been completed in the mosques. Adequate security systems have also been put in place. The ministry also said that more than 6,000 observers have been specially assigned to ensure the arrangements of mosques and Eid gahs.
Different from the previous years, Makkah is experiencing heavy rush of pilgrims and believers this time. Keeping in mind the rush, Eid prayers will also be organized in the mosques near the Holy Haram in Makkah this time. This is in addition to the usual Juma Masjids and Eid Gahs where Eid prayers are held in Makkah. Eid prayers will be held in 562 mosques and Eid gahs in Makkah alone, the ministry said.
