“Either let them pass for free, or they will stop”: Alikhanov – about a new crisis with Lithuania in the issue of Kaliningrad transit

Due to the refusal of the Lithuanian Siauliai Bank to work with Russian counterparties, the republic will either have to let transit trains to the Kaliningrad region pass for free, or not do it at all. This opinion was expressed by the governor of the region Anton Alikhanov, his words “businessman” results on Thursday, July 28.

“This information is known to us, we are working with it. Actually, as far as I understand, we made all payments through this bank, the Lithuanians themselves centralized them through their banking structure earlier. Therefore, refusal to work with Russian contractors will mean the impossibility of paying for the Russian railway. Therefore, the Lithuanians will either let us through for free – which I doubt, or they will stop letting us through, ”said the head of the region.
