El Wahshi is an advisor to the advisory board of “International Chess”

Arkady Dvorkovic, President of the International Chess Federation, announced the selection of Dr. Abdullah bin Salem Al-Wahshi, CEO of the Asian Chess Federation, as a consultant and member of the Advisory Board of the International Chess Federation.

Al-Wahshi became the first Arab sports figure to join the advisory board of the International Chess Federation, which was established following the International Chess Federation elections, which took place a week ago in the Indian city of Chennai for the 2022-2026 session.

The International Advisory Council studies and reviews all decisions, regulations, plans and programs of the International Chess Federation before they are approved by the International Chess Federation Council and the governing body of the International Chess Federation. Indian chess champion and former world champion Vladimir Kramnik and Patrick van Hollandt, president of the Federation of Francophone Countries. The advisory board will be the factory for development and formulation of decisions, ideas and proposals for the development of the sport of chess all over the world.
